three-for-four. brady brings the pats to their third super bowl in four years, and it still feels like people are surprised when it happens. of course vegas is installing us as the favorites (as of 11pm sunday the eagles are getting 6 from us in the superbowl), yet public opinion isn't sure of what to say. well, i'll say this: keep the team under the pop culture and popular opinion radars. it's worked so far.

Amen to 3-for-4.

but i say, bring on the nay-sayers! bring on the public! choose the Pats as favorites! i welcome the band-wagoners, the weak, the tired, the poor, the hungry, the residents of shitty franchise locales (yes, you too Detroit).

i say put the spotlight on the Pats, their fans, Boston and all of New England. give their players attention, pick highlights from their games for SC's Top 10. let annoying sportscasters and commentators across the land analyze, and scrutinize, and hype, and glorify. call the Patriots the next "Evil Empire", call them a "Dynasty", call them lucky or call them great.

love the Patriots. memorize the names of their wall-like offensive linemen, their man-eating defensive backs, their freak-legged kicker, their ultimate clutch QB. quote their stats. admire their coaches.

or hate the Patriots. cry foul at their physical corners. question their obscure play calls as pure luck. attribute their success to weather, injuries and lack of experience on other teams. blame the officials, the rules, free agency, god, black cats, broken mirrors. blame canada.

but whatever you do, whichever side of the fence you choose, YOU MUST DO ONE THING:

Respect the New England Patriots. They've fucking earned it, and so have their fans.
